Welcome to the vibrant world of Indonesia, proudly represented by the Indonesian Community of Ontario (ICO) at the Carassauga Festival 2026! For over a decade, our pavilion has stood as a beacon of Indonesia’s rich cultural heritage. This year, we are thrilled to celebrate the festival theme “Sport in your country.” Supported by the Indonesian Consulate General in Toronto, our showcase brings together a wealth of passion and tradition. As your hosts, we are committed to showcasing the legendary warmth and hospitality for which Indonesia is renowned. Join us at the Sportsplex Gym for an immersive journey through the athletic spirit and diverse traditions of our 17,000 islands!
ENTERTAINMENT:
Experience the power and artistry of Indonesian sportsmanship! Our 2026 program features live demonstrations of Pencak Silat, a world-renowned native martial art, and Sepak Raga, a traditional sport showcasing incredible footwork with a rattan ball. We are also proud to introduce our “Champions of the Archipelago” exhibit, highlighting Indonesia’s global dominance in Badminton and our national passion for Soccer. These performances are brought to life by talented dancers and athletes from the Greater Toronto Area, Calgary, and Vancouver. Don’t miss our interactive line dancing sessions—led by energetic instructors, these sessions offer a chance for everyone to participate and groove to infectious beats!
CUISINE:
Fuel your festival journey with the bold flavors of Indonesia! Our 2026 menu features authentic dishes that reflect the country’s cultural richness, including world-renowned favorites like rendang (slow-cooked beef in coconut milk and spices) and sate (skewered grilled chicken or beef served with savory peanut sauce). Indulge in mie bakso (savory meatball noodle soup) or our fragrant nasi campur (mixed rice with various toppings). For our vegetarian guests, we offer the savory goodness of tempe, a popular and nutritious Indonesian soybean product known for its rich flavor and versatility. Complete your meal with traditional chips and crackers and stay refreshed with our signature es teler and es cendol tropical fruit drinks. Every bite and sip is a gastronomic experience crafted by our culinary artisans to satisfy every craving while you enjoy the festive atmosphere.
